Remediating

The remediating project allowed me to showcase the same argument from my repurposing piece in a new medium. The ending argument from my repurposing discussed the ways I was able to find positivity in my mental illness and learn to love who I am throughout the daily challenges of living with OCD. I decided to expand on this idea by creating a digital booklet titled "When You're Not Okay: The Ultimate Guide." I wanted to share the things I do to help myself cope with the struggles of not only living with a mental illness, but also the struggles of daily stress most college students (and people in general) encounter.

A large portion of this ebook was inspired by the many mental health resources I see while mangaing my tumblr page, such as articles from Buzzfeed's mental health initiative and the website "To Save A Life." The book's aeathetic appeal is one of my favorite parts of this project--I loved playing around with different graphics and font choices to make the book! One thing I will note: the platform I used to make the digital book--simplebooklet--requires ads to be in your booklet unless you pay for an upgraded service. Since I am currently #BallinOnABudget, I did not have the means to pay for the ads to go away. However, I do not think they take away from the lovely work in the book!
