Repurposing- First Draft
The first draft for my re-purposing ended up being entirely different than my final piece. This was one of the first times I had ever written in a personal narrative style, so I was a little confused on where to start. As a communications major, I am very used to writing papers on the media and popular culture. However, writing about myself was an entirely different story. I went into this piece trying a little too hard to be poetic and introspective. I wanted my readers to understand what went on inside of my head during an OCD episode. I think I suceeded this goal in some ways, but failed in others. For example, I thought my italicized moments allowed the reader a clear view inside my thoughts. However, some of the metaphors I used to describe my feelings were a little cliche. You will see in the second draft and the final that I tried to take out the cliche and write with my personality and voice in mind.
